I'm very glad to see that the daily 'participatory' element has been boosted this year with two Neptune singalongs and Bob Kenward's Woodshed Sessions at the Wrotham Arms, as well as the usual Folk Club and Tom and Barbara's singaround in the Sailing Club. The Sailing Club singaround certainly hit capacity last year, so these new arenas are welcome. I was a little concerned that the festival might become fixated on promotion of headline acts, but I've no complaints about this year's programme, so many thanks to the organisers for listening to the folkies who want to play and sing. Hopefully Mudcatters and others will support all these activities so they will be available again next year. Rik
