Isn't there a verse in the New England version about rounding Gay Head on Martha's Vineyard and then steering straight up the channel to New Bedford? I really like old verses that have such specificity in them. They ground (if you can use that verb about a sea song) the song in the same world we inhabit today. Sourdough
