My garden when I moved here was full of giant hogweed. Huge things, the one next door is presently in full flower, and stands a good 6 feet tall. Has big leaves like a rhubarb but jagged, and is quite harmless unless you try to cut it down on a sunny day. Get some of the sap on your hands and then expose the hand to sunlight, and you have your own little flesh eating compound.... really great stuff to have with children around - NOT!! My local doctors' surgery has the highly poisonous aconitum growing outside it..... commonly known as Monks Hood, it has dark purple flowers shaped like hoods, and is very poisonous. Suppose the surgery is the right place for it to grow!! LTS
