I think this must be a *first*: a display of Christmas cakes, mince pies, Christmas puddings and goodness knows what else Christmassy on sale today, 7th September, in my local Sainsbury's supermarket.

I thought it was crazy enough yesterday when I spotted some Halloween bits and bobs in M&S - but this Christmas stuff just takes the biscuit ! (or..in this case...the "Taste the Difference brandy pudding").

No wonder grumpy old women like me complain that time seems to be going by so much faster these days. It's not just an illusion of old age, it's this totally daft marketing ahead of season. They were "Back to School" this year before the poor little mites had even left !

Next time I go into Sainsbury's, I shall protest loudly. Much good may it do....but it will be fun.

Can anyone beat 7th September for seeing the Christmas stuff ?
