Thanks to Masato, I found the original Russian folksong in Cyrillic & a couple of literal translations. With the help of these & my daughter Rebekkah (who speaks Russian fluently) I put together a singable translation of the Russian original, which I will post next as a Lyr Add. I thought I'd get the cross-references and credits out of the way first! See various Forum threads linked at top of this thread, e.g. RE: MUS ADD: Those Were The Days, Guest AKS, and Ajda Pekkan Particular thanks to Igor Matveyev for the clearest literal translation.
