I've been pondering this "liquidity" thing, too. Is it too hard for us to understand, or is it not? Could someone really have the balls to ask for $700 billion without real justification? Could he really be so stupid as to need it on a couple of days' notice, if he's so smart? It is freaky stuff. Note, however, that four European banks were bailed out by their respective governments yesterday.
