mississippi john BS: mississippi john's birthday party (3) BS: mississippi john's birthday party 07 Oct 08

hi folks,

i would like to thank all the people who turned out for my 60th birthday party at the Sun Inn on sunday 5th Oct.

my wife sue & friend Mo come down to the Sun on the morning ( said she was going into Hull ), and put the balloons and posters around the pub walls ( soom a bit near the water shed mark ), they were a variety of posters from childhood days - through the years up-to the present with the band - The Saggy Bottom Boys.

I was suprised when I walked into the Sun on the afternoon to see all the family who had turned out for the afternoon / evening seasion, all enjoyed them selves and all appreciated the music.

got songs from Alan and Di, a duo from Pip & Merry, great songs from Hazel, Derek, Karl, Merv, and of course the SAGGY BAND,it was also nice to hear people joining in with the singing of some of the old favorites.

nice to see Carol just got back from France, Pete & Jannie from the Ally Cats, Eddie from Keyingham with his great version of Duelling Banjo's,

was nice to see the regulars turn out and a few new faces.

great thanks to the Sun management who kept the beer flowing and the catering 1st class.

once again thanks to all who turned out and also the great birthday cards.

a special thanks MUST go to my wife Sue and ummbanjo, who between them
we have a couple of sceaming / devious people who worked hard to make it a suprise party for me, complete with suprise guests, was much appriciated

according to ummbanjo now that i've turned 60 i am now and official
SAGGY BOTTOM BOY   - cheers

m/j

PS - cannot wait for my nexted 60th party
