Regarding the word "fiddle", my understanding is that the word is derived from the Gaelic word for violin, being "fidhle". This would mean that the word is not "English" at all. And the harmonica is a "fringe" harp, not "French", so named for the fringe-like arrangement of the metal reeds. I would vote for the English concertina best- Julia
