Canadian Thanksgiving Trivia......

"LET'S TALK TURKEY:

* The first Thanksgiving Day in Canada after the confederation was celebrated on April 15, 1872, to mark The Prince of Wales' recovery from a serious illness. since 1931, it has been held on the second Monday of October.

* If gobbling down turkey were an Olympic sport, Canada wouldn't make the podium. Each year we consume 4.2 kilograms per person, while Israelis eat 11.5 kilograms per person, more than anyone else. Turkey eaters in the U.S. and Europe also eat more than us.

* TA turkey's head turns deep blue when it's excited or scared, and, ironically, this bird has a great sense of taste.

* When a turkey is scared it makes a "turk, turk, turk" sound.

* Male turkeys, called toms, gobble, while females - hens- make a clicking sound.

* Mature turkeys have about 3,5000 feathers."
