Couple a ways down the shore here has probably the oldest turkeys in Canada. They raised a dozen meat birds, for the winter, ended up with a dozen extra mouths to feed. Apparently free range turkeys can be charming individuals with unique personalities and it's very difficult to kill something you feel affection for - unless you are really, really hungry..
