Hey PE if you have a problem with dingy folk clubs often dozens of tube stops from home the solution is obvious. Dicks agent is John Barrow at the Stoneyport Agency who you can email on jb@stoneyport.demon.co.uk

Drop him a line and negotiate a date and a fee and then sort out a venue more in keeping with your tastes (suggest the Albert Hall) and run the show yourself.

You'll then need to do a website and some posters and leaflets and don't forget Time Out. You'll get lots of calls and emails to deal with. And you'll need get some people together to manage the door and the seating oh and don't forget the PA.

Naturally "This is both time consumming (sic) and a lot of work, especially if it is a work day." but it's what the rest of us do in order to run our "dingy folk clubs"

But it's all worth while especially when you think of the oppotunities is gives people like you to bellyache that you have to change buses a couple of times.
