Hi Mike Just as a matter of interest, I've just looked up my copy of 'Sing' that contains the words of the 'Chastity Belt' - it appears in Volume 6 No. 10 - that's for June 1962. Hell, SO long ago! On the front page there's the headline article, together with a photo of Pete Seeger, which tells us that he will not be going to jail for contempt of congress after a US Circuit Court threw the case against him out. Among the other songs in the magazine are The Leaving of Liverpool, The Hamburg Floods (by Fred and Betty Dallas), A Space Shanty (by Stan Kelly), and another Fred and Betty song 'Come With Us'. The footnotes to the Chastity Belt say: "The origins of this song lie somewhere between the Cambridge St. Lawrence Society and the Oxford Heritage Society - though neither claims the credit. The tune is from Oxford and the words are a 'combined universities' affair." Regards
