I have a performance of Pete Seeger singing We Shall Overcome where he starts talking in between one of the verses and says 0 Now you know it The best verse was made up in Montgomery, Alabama It says "We are not afraid" And you, and I up here, and like every human bring in the world, We have been afraid But you still sing it, we are not afraid, we are not afraid I'd especially like to dedicated this verse to an old friend of mine, I think she's the oldest person here tonight ????????????? Ninety-three years old and she came to sing with us Does anyone know the name of the person he acknowledged? I can't really make it out. In introducing the song, Pete suggests people going down to Birmingham, Mississippi or Alabama, which would make me thing that this performance was between 1963 and 1965.
