Called ourselves "Frolicking Pete and the Fumbling Fingers Concertina Ceilidh Band" one cheerful, wine-drinking evening 25 years ago and been trying to pretty the name up ever since. "The Fingers?" Perhaps not. "Pete and the Fingers?" No.... "Frolicking Pete Ceildh Band?" "Fumbling Fingers?" Oh dear! You should hear the phone calls... "May I speak to ...errr... could I talk to... um- do you have a dance band?" My current favourite is "Irascible Badgers". Even the band can't explain what it means! Whilst I'm carrying on: we called ourselves "Wenchall" from "When shall we three meet again," being a little long in the tooth and three in number. That's not the meaning that Internet searches throw up....
