I was watching a BBC2 're-creation' programme called 'Victorian Farm' last night. It is an attempt to copy the life of a Victorian farm over a year staged at the Acton-Scott Farm Museuum in Shropshire and, as of last night had arrived at Spring with lambs and piglets born, crops growing, adnd May-day to celebrate. Come the May-day sequence, up pops a guy with a concertina singing a May song, and I said to S 'That's John Kirkpatrick', about thirty seconds before the voice-over said 'John Kirkpatrick, who is a local folk-lore specialist' or words to similar effect. He got about 5 minutes exposure to a TV audience. I think the programme is repeated early Saturday evening. FC
