Another quick announcement: Jamie Janover will do two hammered dulcimer workshops at DS on Sunday, Feb. 22nd. Here are the particulars:

Hammered Dulcimer Fundamentals

Sun., February 22, 12:15 – 2:15 p.m., $35 or $60 for both of this instructor's workshops.
Get a fresh perspective on the basics from a veteran improviser/drummer/performer. Learn how to hold the hammers, dulcimer parts and setup, and suggestions for performance including sticking techniques, rolls, and how to improvise. Also, discover how to find patterns and shapes of note combinations within chords and scales. Your active questions will help shape the direction of this workshop! For advanced-beginner to professional players.

This workshop will cover many advanced rhythmic techniques, plus how to find scales and chords, improvising over chord changes, dulcimer tricks, and advice about performing. This will be an intimate workshop in which your specific questions will influence the direction of the instruction. Jamie will help you unlock the infinite possibilities of music-making on this incredible instrument. For intermediate to professional players.
