I myself am totally new to the folk scene and have found singarounds the most educational and usefull tool there is. Not just from a practice performing point of view, mainly from a listening point. I have picked up so many ideas for song writing and been introduced to some fantastic traditional material.
I didnt get to sing myself on Monday night but was more than happy to sit and listen to the wide range of styles and material being performed.

I thought the whole ethos of folk music and folk clubs was listen and pass it on.
