GUEST,Girl Friday Knockholt 2009 Sept.errection(Marquee) (23) RE: Knockholt 2009 Sept.errection(Marquee) 27 Jun 09

Sorry Spaw, but this is a fairly serious topic. We have a twice annual folk camp at a lovely place in Kent called Knockholt. Holt is I believe a badger's den. No more silly posts please, There seemed an adequate number of willing hands to erect the marquee, but, as Pierre says, not enough available bods on the last day. A lot of campers tend to get up in the morning, strike camp, and go, even though, they have enjoyed the facilities. In the past,my partner had helped with both the putting up and taking down of the marquee, but, since his heart attack has lost a lot of strength. Is a definite time set for marquee erection? If there was, then going to the pub needn't clash. I did what I could. I made tea for the erectors, gathered up loads of bottles that had just been dropped under chairs around the fire, and Mick Foorde bagged them. I tried throughout camp to continue the bagging up, though it was a losing battle keeping bottles, plastics, and cans seperate. Individuals should be made responsible for their own recycling. We all have council schemes, and all are slightly different in the way they want stuff packed for collection.
Spaw was merely trying to lighten things up and change the subject in the face of our anonymous (and now deleted) Guest. Spaw is to be considered an Official Mudcat Hero. He brought a lighter tone to the conversation and did not acknowledge the troll.
