I usually carry a large hard suitcase big enough to hold a tenor banjo diagonaly and then pack it with clothes etc. you could do the same for a fiddle, they don't seem to want to dammage suit cases. On another occasion flying to New Zealand from the UK I carried a 5 string banjo in a case inside a golf club holdall, again they didn't know it was an instrument so it was safe. Bill
