And for further clarity (?!), the sound is taken as a feed from the FOH mixing desk, ie the mix as heard by the audience. This provided by CV Audio, not a Shropshire company in this case, but one that has a long association with Shrewsbury Festival (and previously Bridgnorth).

If you listen to the videos on the festival website, they are of vaying sound quality. (For my money, the Lunasa one is the best.)

This is because MicroVideo mixed in a feed taken from audience mikes (in order to introduce ambience, and give the viewer a sense of being there), and in my opinion this actually degrades the final quality, as those mikes are 'hearing' all the reflections from the tent. I have voiced this concern to Charles and Alan, as they no longer sound the sort of quality they could have been. But I realise it is a trade off.

As a contrast, listen to the YouTube vids from Southwell Festival. The sound was taken straight from the desk, and in most cases is exceptional when compared to most YouTube fare.
