This may sound a bit odd, but have you tried Clogs?
I don't mean the dutch variety made from a solid lump of wood but the type worn by most people (a while ago now) in the UK!
Personally I wear nothing else. I currently own 3 working pairs, one with steel toecaps for work, one normal (duck style) and a pair of carved Sunday clogs! ..... the leather is carved not the wood!!
I have bad arches and suffered with athletes foot for years before wearing my Clogs, but now am trouble free!

Work Clogs ..... £60 .... 4 years ago
Duck Clogs ..... £80 .... 2 years ago (but look nearly new)
Sunday clogs ... £110 .... 17? years ago (thanks mum)

I am sure there are people who will make you a pair to fit. You may have to e-mail them an outline of your feet on paper if you do not want a standard size, and remember that clog sizes are one size larger then the equivalent UK foot size (if you wear size 8 shoes you order a size 7 clog!).
