I am using the Tunebook application, not Tradtunes mentioned above. It displays the tunes as staff notation, but you can also view and edit them in abc. It plays the standard robotic midi sound and has an inbuilt web browser so you can download tunes from the web very easily. I am using it on the OS 3 ipod touch, not sure if it would work with earlier versions. So far as I am aware the Tradtunes app only shows abc, not staff, but perhaps someone who has used it will confirm. Tradtunes comes with more tunes inbuilt but so far as I can see, Tunebook is much more versatile.
