Just had three visiting Americorps young folk around my kitchen table last night and this morning (they brought them up for an 8 a.m. training, and didn't provide lodging or breakfast and these folks were going to camp in Vermont in September. What a nifty bunch of people, hungry to help (and for ham and eggs and bread pudding and whatever else was available) and one played mandolin like you wouldn't believe. Iife is so full of surprises, people you never knew,who pop up at the right time to give you hope. I'd just spent a few days in DC working on health care, and was in need of a dose of hope. Small trade for apple bread pudding and mattresses in the attic, I would say
