GUEST,PaulS Linlithgow - Oxfam Folk Night 31/10 (1) Linlithgow - Oxfam Folk Night 31/10 26 Sep 09

Linlithgow Oxfam Group is delighted to note the return of its annual Folk Night – once a regular part of the West Lothian traditional music scene.

On Saturday 31st October, Linlithgow Academy Theatre will play host to three of Scotland's favourite acts. Sangsters, from Fife, need little introduction to West Lothian audiences, having had sellout concerts here for many years, with their mixture of close harmony traditional and modern songs, presented with a very special brand of humour.

Gordeanna McCulloch is one of Scotland's finest traditional singers, performing frequently at festivals and concerts across Scotland and further afield. Stairheid Gossip, based in Edinburgh, is a four-woman group with a wide range of songs, and a wonderful harmony style.

Support will be provided by Sangschule, Linlithgow's own community song group, with a membership drawn from across the district and beyond. All of our main acts have been involved in teaching Sangschule in recent years, and are donating their services free of charge.

This is set to be a great evening's entertainment. Come along to enjoy the music, to sing along and to support this very important cause. Licensed bar, Oxfam stall and a Fairtrade stall.

Tickets (£10, £8 concessions) now on sale from Blastoff Books, 103 High Street, Linlithgow, or by contacting: LinlithgowOxfamFolk@hotmail.co.uk
