Eric the Viking BS: quiverful families? (68* d) RE: BS: quiverful families? 05 Oct 09

Two kids? Where does that idea spring from? Who can determine the limit for someone to have children (Oh yeah, China) John? "He's already loaded his burden onto the world".

My kids are NOT a burden on the world.

Having said that I've got two and we would have had another if Mrs V hadn't have had two ceasers. We've been able to love, provide and care for, educate in the widest sense of the word and see two kids grow up with love from their parents and respect, a sense of responsibility towards and love for their fellows. They are both willing workers and good students who see their lives as a contribution to the betterment of the world. Now would you sooner have 6 of those from me and Mrs V or 2 from some beer swilling, drug taking, wife beating, criminally inclined irresponsible person?

By the way, how do I get my 0.4 that I'm still entitled to?

I'm not against large families I had a sister in law, one of 21 though only 17 survived to adulthood. Many religions advocate the breed as many as you can to propogate the religion idea. Many have large families because contraception issues or availability. Many have large families because infant mortallity is still high.

To answer Penny in some part, some women love being pregnant, having babies and even breast feeding for a long time. It makes them feel fulfilled. I know of at least two such who have had five children each. Not because of some out of control sexually domineering man in their lives (Or some silly religious notion). On the other hand I know of some single mums who have limited ideas about contraception who also have five kids, no partner and different fathers for each of them and as one child I worked with from a similar situation explained when he was about 15 years. "It was not knowing which one I should call dad this week".

Some women I know are career minded and don't want any children, that's entirely up to them and their wishes. They don't see it as having "missed the boat".

Me, personally, I couldn't give a toss about religion and whilst "breeding for God", might have appealed to me as a chat up line when I was younger and lustier, I never got the chance !(Might have been fun) LOL

.

I'm waiting for the tirade about that last remark.......Don't care, it was only meant as a joke.
