Dear Jon,

I'm sending all my love and prayers for dear Jean and for your family tonight, along with a promise to sing The Peace Round on New Year's Eve, in the New Orleans French Quarter. Jean's been on my mind for weeks, and I'd written to her about our "Kentucky Mother Goose." I'd been thinking that it was unlike her not to write back.

I'm praying that she will make her way all the way back to you, very soon. Please send my love to her and to your precious dad, too.
