When I was performing, I always played one or two JS songs in every show--usually Daydream Believer, and July, You're a Woman, or California Bloodlines, but I tended to add something from every new album to the repertoire. His songs worked well with my voice, and had a solid and real quality that few other songwriters could manage. Many years ago, when I lived in California, I was driving from somewhere to somewhere with some random folks, when, out of the blue, we crossed Wild Horse Rd--much to the consternation of my passengers, I turned down the road, just to see it, and sang a few lines of the song. They didn't any of it.
