Growing up as a child in Ireland, there was an old man called Dan at the end of the road... We would run past and whisper sniggering... Dan, Dan Dirty old Man, Washed his hair in a frying pan, combed his hair with the lef of a chir, Dan Dan dirty old man... I dont recall any other verses. Old man Tucker sung by Bruce has very similar words, and I wonder if the old song crossed the atlantic and like so many other songs....got transformed over the years in the US....
