Being Irish and also a Bodhrán player....... the original and correct name for the instrument suits me fine ! "Hran" is just a rather silly and pointless affectation IMHO. I am now wondering what other nonsensical words will be invented in place of the normal terms for tin whistles, banjos, fiddles, guitars, etc...etc...?????
Hmmmmm..........PerhapsI should start calling my Bodhráns "Eric" and "Fiona" Ha Ha !!
