Jimmy McCarthy was on Radio Eireann recently (Tubridy Show). He said he once worked as an apprentice jockey. While riding out, the older horses led, with the two-year-olds taking up the rear. As the younger horses got a bit frisky, the jockeys on the older horses were shouted at to "Ride On." Simple as that!
