The Limeliters sang "The Battle of Gendesa" in both Spanish and English. If I remember them correctly, the English lyric for the first verse was If you want to drop a line You must know where you can find me At the Battle of Gendesa Where the fire tries to blind me And I guess the song of the Lincoln Battalion is the one set to Red River Valley There's a valley in Spain called Jarama It's a place that we all know so well For 'twas there that we gave of our manhood Where so many of our brave comrades fell We are proud of the Lincoln Battalion And the fight for Madrid that we made There we fought like true sons of the people As a part of the Fifteenth Brigade Now we're far from that valley of sorrow Though its memory we'll never forget In the midst of the struggles around us Let's remember our glorious dead I've seen a few other verses, but these are the most commonly sung.
