The advice I had was not to advertise, and not to charge on the door - then it's a party and the legislation doesn't apply. All the guests are 'invited' and any payment is a 'donation' directly to the performer. HOWEVER This is untried in law, and you'll certainly be at risk on the insurance front, and possibly the rest. folkWISE tips for House Concerts in the UK Tom Good idea to follow Roger's link and make a contribution. I would but I can't make head nor tail of what's being proposed!
