Had the very great pleasure of seeing Bruce at Scrooby Church, near Doncaster, last night, in the company of the delightful Karen Tweed. Strange setting - completely unamplified, sitting in the church pews - but absolutely rivetting performances from both. Bruce duetted with Karen on some Scandanavian influenced tunes and amazed me with is depth of knowledge and versatility in his solo work, showing his mastery not just of the fiddle, but of different styles of fiddle, and the banjo, and guitar, with a fabulous voice to boot. Well worth catching if you can.
