Our team Orange Peel Morris, have a tradition of placing a fruit cake on a sword, covering it liberally with Brandy and NOT setting it alight.
It is a tradition we have done continually since we started doing our version of the Apple tree Wassail on or around January 17th. Unfortunately this year, due to much warmer than usual weather (it has been -25C on occasion)the tradition is not now continuous, the damn thing had flames on it this year.
Nice cakes though.
