Very many thanks to everyone who came and helped in the move last Wednesday. It actually happened – thanks especially to sterling work from Allan and John [Aka Whitby pirates] from Neil's Removals, Whitby who really had quite a shock when they saw the amount of boxes, files and cabinets in Sheffield. I think they imagined 'the archive' to be a few cupboards of files and papers. Clearly my initial description of the contents must have sounded a little exaggerated … it wasn't!! Although we did fill the floor space in the new premises, I've since put up library shelves around the walls and created [just!] enough space for the next load. Yes, needless to say, it's going to take another furniture van load to clear the rest; this comprises mainly video tapes, LPs and cabinets of transparencies. So, if anyone has an hour to spend on Monday – the same time sequence as last week – we'd be overjoyed to see them as it'll speed things up considerably. I shall be putting details on the website very soon but, in the meantime, thanks again to those who helped and also the many mails of support and good wishes – they do mean a lot. Thanks Doc
