There aren't many Rays or Raymonds on the S Yorks folk scene – just enough to confuse people. Ray Padgett and I are often mistaken for each other. Not surprising, since we're both tall, sophisticated and ruggedly handsome – apart from Ray. But we certainly both play the anglo concertina, though not (so far) at the same time. The Robber's Dog had its grand opening last night (last month was a sort of dress rehearsal). We filled the room again, and a merry time was had by all. Do you think this folk club idea will catch on? As a sort of X Factor for people who can't afford posh frocks, it could run and run... Thanks to everyone who supported it. We're back on 13 Nov.
