When I went to camp I learned it like this. We started with the "Rose" tune and wnet into "Thou poor bird" Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose Shall I ever see thee wed I shall marry at thy will, Sire At thy will Hey ho, nobody home Meat nor drink nor money have I none Yet I shall be merry Hey ho, nobody home Thou poor bird Take thy flight High above the sorrows Of this dark night. That's just what I learned, and I have no idea how that song came to that camp, the origin, ect.
