This ltest incident involved a B747-400. It was a standard shut down on the Rolls Royce RB211 No 1 engine which returned with a minor fault and was released back to service within 3 hours. Had the A380 incident not occurred I doubt the B747 incident would have made any news at all. Engines are shut down in flight almost every day across the world as safety procedures and seldom do they make the news.
