Andrea, your new neighborhood/village sounds wonderful. My new window blinds are up, and they're exactly what I wanted-- 1-inch wood painted off-white, and they fit within the window frame. I took a ring to the jeweler's this morning, to see what I'd get for it if I sold it. I bought it when I went to Italy in 1972, and I've only worn it (maybe) 3 times in almost 40 years. I was taken with it at the time, but it's really not my style at all. Anyway, the clerk told me what they'd give me, but said their "estate jewelry" buyer might be interested in it, so that might bring a little more. Keeping my fingers crossed. Met my new neighbors over the weekend-- seem like a nice couple, and they have 2 little girls (both pre-school it think). M
