The story/joke as I heard it concerned a young lady musician and player of many instruments who was on her way to a folk festival somewhere in New England. She left her accordion exposed on the back seat of her car, while driving, and had become very hungry. She exited off the Interstate and pulled into a diner to grab a bite to eat. As she was in the middle of her meal, she realized she had left her instrument clearly visible on the rear seat of her car. She ran out of the diner to her car, but it was too late. The rear window was smashed and someone threw in two more accordions.
