Wow. All I can think of is what I missed because of the institutionalized racism of the times in media. Thank God someone had the foresight to preserve these priceless images. And kudos to the 'British Rockers', who in most cases credited their sources. Was hanging out at a club called Mr. Kiley's in Chicago and talking w/a guy I'd just jammed with on a set of blues. He was a big, black, upright bass player about the same age as me. When we introduced he told me his name was William. I complimented him on his playing and he said, "You should've heard my Pops, he was the man." We chatted a little while longer and toasted the blues w/a shot. Afterwards, he'd left and a musician friend came up to me and said, "Do you know who that was you were talking to?" "No". "Willie Dixon, Jr." Thanks again Kat, you always seem to ferret out the best of the best.
