Richard The PUFF might well assume that asking people to sing traditional songs ONLY would exempt it from PRS. Sadly not so. The question still remains about the special tariff for predominantly traditional festivals and why PRS chose to abandon it. Howard Festivals do not pay PRS up front. They are forced to pay a percentage of their income regardless of the amount of traditional or other material used. That payment is invariably added to a general pot and never reaches the actual composers or arrangers whose material has been performed.
