Tuesday 18 January sees a night of contrasting folk at the Musician in Leicester.

Opening the evening will be current Radio 2 Folk Award Horizon award nominees Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell. Their debut album, The North Farm Sessions, a delicate and intimate mix of traditional and original songs, received four star reviews from The Guardian, Q and Uncut amongst others. Headlining is John Kirkpatrick, the current BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year. John has worked with Richard Thompson, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band and Brass Monkey amongst others, has appeared on over two hundred albums and contributed to more than sixty plays as well as founding the famous Border Morris side The Shropshire Bedlams. A true folk legend and renaissance man, his solo shows feature an engaging mix of traditional songs and tunes as well as his trademark wit and humorous tales.
