I was lucky enough to see JP perform at Old Songs Festival in the late 1990s. He was my no. 1 'must see' on the bill, and I was surprised to find the afternoon crowd was thin. He played beautifully and lyrically and was a real gentleman wnen I insisted on meeting him afterwards. Unforgettable.
