Firstly the head of the Anglican church is Queen Elizabeth (a woman), not the Archbishop of Canterbury(a man) who is her deputy. A few years back when Lizzie tried to appoint a new Archbishop of Canterbury(a man) she was overruled by PM Maggie (a woman, perhaps) who felt that it was her jurisdiction to appoint a different Archbishop of Canterbury (a man.) While I have some grudging respect for Lizzie I think Maggie was an arsehole and I have not darkened the door of the Anglican church since!
