Got the pile of stuff in the corner of the garden cleared yesterday. Apart from a dog toy, a few candy wrappers and a couple of plastic garden chair legs, it was all twiggy stuff and prunings. There is some cracking compost under there too! I havent dug too deeply into it, as I want to keep the slight bank into the corner as a surround for the bird bath....when I can find somebody to help me with it! Just got to take the last couple of tubs to the tip.

Even mowed the lawn yesterday, although it didn't really need it.

Still waiting for the conservation officer. One of the builders has taken me out to show me some of the work he has recently done in secondhand sandstone. I like it, even if it isn't exactly the same as the main house. However, the side wall appears to be a mixture of sandstone and whin stone. It'll be quicker and cheaper if they will definitely allow the sandstone, but I need to be sure before I go ahead. Planners can make you take down and rebuild if they don't like what you've done, which is why they need samples of stone as well first.
