A quick note about the next Greenbird Promotions gig, which is at The Musician in Leicester on Tuesday 5 April and is a special double bill with full sets from Dan Walsh & Will Pound and Lucy Ward.

Will Pound is probably the most fiery and accomplished harmonica players around. He has played with Sandra Kerr, is an integral part of the Martin Simpson Big Band and made an acclaimed appearance at the Big Session in 2010 with Dan Walsh. Dan is as good on the banjo as Will is on the harmonica and has played numerous gigs and festivals including Sidmouth and Towersey. Together their high energy performances and astonishing musicianship make them a duo not to be missed. You can see them performing at the 2010 Moseley Folk festival here The sound is pretty poor but their skill and presence shines through.

Fast rising star Lucy Ward is a former BBC Young Folk Award finalist, has supported the likes of Seth Lakeman and Jim Moray and has just finished her debut album for Fellside, which may be available at the gig, although that's a bit in advance of the official launch. Anyone who's seen Lucy will need no prompting to come and hear her wonderful voice, great songs and huge personality, but for those who haven't you can see her singing Belinda O'Hooley's Whitethorn in January when she was last at the Musician here.

Tickets are £8 from the Musician or wegottickets.

Doors are at 8pm with music starting at 8.30pm and finishing around 11.
