Moby was referred to earlier in this thread (back in 2006); in fact a lot of his album "Play" features samples of folk music. As Azizi notes, Honey samples Bessie Jones singing "Sometimes" Natural Blues samples Vera Hall singing "Trouble So Hard" Run On is the song also known as "God's Gonna Cut You Down", and samples Bill Landford and the Landfordaires.
