Tom Kitching & Gren Bartley, supported by Jess Morgan, will be at The Musician in Leicester on Tuesday 17 May. Tickets are £8 from wegottickets or the Musician. Tom Kitching and Gren Bartley are one of the brightest young acts on the folk scene today. Having met at Loughborough University through presenting a folk show on campus radio, they have released two albums together as well as maintaining healthy solo careers (Tom was recently in Leicester when his band Pilgrim's Way supported Kris Drever). Gren is a Leicester regular whose guitar playing leaves jaws dropping – he is the only person who can play Richard Thompson's 1952 Vincent Black Lightning as well as its writer – while Tom's bright fiddle playing and dry on-stage humour provide the perfect complement. Watch Tom and Gren here Jess Morgan was last in Leicester in autumn 2010 when she supported Lau at the Y Theatre to great acclaim. Described by Steve Lamacq as "a little gem" her debut album, All Swell, was released in April last year and since then she's played at numerous festivals including Sidmouth and Leicester's own Big Session, as well as tour America, Europe, and even Iceland See Jess play on German TV earlier this year here Doors are at 8.00pm with Jess on stage at 8.30pm.
