It depends how you define folk but if anonymity plays a role and tradition passed down from hand to hand, eye to eye, there are plenty of examples of seamless collaboration, some for profit, some for posterity. I've never bought the 'songs of the people' idea as most people on here know. All creation requires a progenitor IMHO but that doesn't rule out the morphing hand of generations of individuals doing their bit. Pargeting, alabaster work, embroidery left degrees of folk marks.
